As we push to tackle the climate crisis, there’s a value in persistence, even if the road ahead looks bleak. Today we celebrate a great example of this as Loughborough Climate Vigil hits its two year anniversary.

Loughborough climate vigil meets every Friday morning from 8:15 to 9:30 in front of the MP’s office. The vigil was started by members of Christian Climate Action Loughborough, but now involves individuals all different faiths and none. This week, the group was joined by eight newly elected Cllrs from the Borough Council, Jane Hunt, the local MP, the Labour parliamentary candidate and one county councillor. They ate cake and asked the borough councillors what their plans are to tackle climate change in the next four years.
A representative from the Loughborough Climate Vigil says: Thank you to all who came along. Solidarity for our planet. No matter what political views we have, ensuring the wellbeing of the earth is one thing we all can share because it’s home for all of us.”
The Loughborough climate vigil will continue to take place every Friday and it would be great to have you along.
