Jesus Died to Save the Planet

Tuesday 14th May, 7pm-8pm, online

Frustrated that your local church community still sees climate and ecological breakdown as a side issue, or, worse, not really an issue at all? This is for you – or rather your church community.

In this session, CCA’s Paul will preview his upcoming publication ‘Jesus Died to Save the Planet’  – a collaboration with the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity – which locates the flourishing of the whole earth as central to the mission of God, and action by us for its flourishing as simply aligning ourselves with God’s mission. He will conclude with three strategic do-able actions for church communities.

Protest at the Africa Energies Summit

Wednesday 15th May, Jubilee Gardens, Belvedere Road, London SE1 7PG (opposite the Shell Centre), 6.45am to 9.30am

The Africa Energies Summit is happening between May 14-16. The major oil and gas companies, ministers of oil and gas rich countries and financiers will be there.

We are planning a protest on the morning of May 15th, alongside other groups, to call for a these companies and governments to transition from destructive oil and gas projects to renewables. Africa desperately needs energy but oil and gas extraction are not only harming the planet but most of the people living in Africa are not seeing any real benefit from its exploitation. Come and help us highlight the urgent need for large scale investments in renewable energy projects. Read more about this here.
