Christian Climate Action is a grass-roots movement. Anyone involved is invited to organise a prayerful protest or a vigil, as long as it follows our principles and values. You can find online training and resources to assist with this.

Cardiff Barclays Vigil
Monday 15th June, 11am to 12 noon, NEW LOCATION 17 Queen Street, Cardiff, CF10 2AQ
Everyone of all faiths and none are welcome to join us in silence, meditation, or prayer.
This will be our last vigil as we take a break over the summer and we will be back on 22nd September

St Albans Cathedral Ethical Banking Vigil
Thursday 18th June, 11.30am-1.30pm (exact time TBC)
St Alban’s Cathedral currently banks with Barclays, the biggest funder of fossil fuels in Europe. As part of our Ethical Banking Campaign we’re urging all Church of England cathedrals to switch to a fossil fuel free bank.
Join us outside the cathedral to pray, hand out flyers, and talk to members of the cathedral. You can contact us on christianclimateaction@gmail.com to let us know you’re coming.
Hereford Cathedral Ethical Banking Vigil
Wednesday 24th June, 10am-1pm (exact time TBC)
Hereford Cathedral currently banks with Lloyds – but has told CCA it hopes to review its banking arrangements. Now is a great time to pray for the cathedral and its Chapter to switch to a fossil fuel free bank.

York: Church of England General Synod
Saturday 11th July, lunchtime (exact times tbc)
Join us in holding vigil with our banners outside the General Synod at the University of York to pray for Hope for All Creation and Kairos Palestine, as both issues will be considered by Synod on the Sunday.

Ethical Banking Vigils
We are taking forward our ethical banking campaign this spring with a series of vigils planned outside Church of England cathedrals. Anyone can join the campaign by holding a prayer vigil outside a cathedral or church building in their area.
Over the Spring and early Summer 2026, our CCA local groups will be holding vigils outside Church of England cathedrals.

11am-12.30pm: CCA, alongside those of other faiths, prayer vigil outside the Houses of Parliament, holding in mind Parliament and the challenges of the climate crisis.

CCA Brighton – Pause for the Planet Vigil
Third Friday of the month, 10:30am
The war memorial, Old Steine, Brighton
Followed by 11.15-11.45 outside Barclays bank on North Street.
Join us as we come together in silent prayer for our planet. We do this alongside XR Buddhists, who sit silently in meditation.
At 11:15 we move to holding another vigil outside Barclays bank, where we also do outreach, letting the public know that Barclays is the biggest funder of fossil fuels in Europe.
