Our visit to the Iona Community

CCA and The Iona Community share a common belief that work for justice, peace and an equitable society is a matter of urgency and that we have a responsibility to live in a right relationship with the whole of God’s creation.  One of the Community’s concerns is the environment, acting in solidarity with victims of environmental injustice, supporting structural change in countries to reduce resource consumption, and rekindling community with the whole Creation. People from CCA were therefore delighted to accept the invitation of the Community to stay at their partner resource centre “The Mac” this month. While there we gave a presentation to members of the community and their visitors about the work of CCA and led a short service focused on our mission. This included reading the Extinction Rebellion solemn intention statement and prayers written by people in CCA. We built stronger bonds of trust – vital for an action based organisation – and reflected, discerned and planned. And we trust that the seeds we sowed will be blown by the wind to bear fruit in faith and action in other places.
