This is an exciting 2 part series, sharing the wisdom of Jonathan Cox from Citizens UK.
Here’s a bit about him… After parliamentary and campaigning roles in Westminster, Jonathan began his Community Organising career in 2006 as coordinator of the Independent Asylum Commission. This led to a nationwide campaign to end the detention of children for immigration purposes, which was made law in 2014. He has secured wins with Citizens UK Leaders on the resettlement of 20,000 Syrian refugees and the pioneering of refugee Community Sponsorship.
Thurs 25th Jan, 7-8:30pm: Together we will watch a recording of a talk Jonathan Cox ran for CCA in November 2023, on how to carry out effective campaigning.
Thurs 1st Feb, 7-8:30pm: A week later, we will meet to hold a discussion about the recording, facilitated by CCA’s own Margaret Roberts and Vanessa Elston.
After the first session we will provide a couple of documents about community organising that you might like to read ahead of the second session to aid discussion.
