CCA is co-organising an event to help connect people from different faiths and to encourage them in addressing systemic climate related injustice. This is part of our commitment to working in solidarity with those from more marginalised communities than us, to climate justice, and to widening access to our work.
When: Sunday 23 February 2025, 12.30 – 6pm
Where: Friends House, Euston, London NW1 2BJ
What: A multi faith gathering where we can learn from one another about faith-based action to protect people and planet, and the spiritual values and practices of different faiths that nuture this. A space to create opportunities within our communities and to develop collaborations across faiths. Hosted by Quakers in Britain, Faith for the Climate, and Christian Climate Action.
The Invitation: Join us, open your address book and bring your friends and colleagues with you. We want build mutually supportive connections with people from minority faith groups and minoritised communities and to include people of faith who might not consider themselves to be climate activists but have heart for climate justice, so look out for those contacts and spread the word.
Expect: Panel discussions and workshops with people already taking action, spiritual connection, music, dance and poetry from a variety of faiths, creative work, and stalls showcasing the work that faiths based organisations are doing for the planet. During the afternoon you will have the opportunity to spend some time focusing on one particular theme:
- how we build new, and refreshing existing, faith connections to work together on climate and environmental issues
- learning from groups already taking local actions about their projects and how faith values connect with these
- learning about national and international campaigns that uare focused on justice-based action on climate
- activities to nurture your existing spiritual resources and learn from other traditions
