This is a video showing footage from the Ash Wednesday service and the 24 hour vigil, which took place on the 5th to the 6th of March. It lasts 4.5 minutes and has been created for you to share as widely as possible this lent. It focuses on stopping the Rosebank oil field and has a call to action to share in that campaign – a campaign which could end the extraction of oil & gas from all new sites in the UK. It is a pivotal moment.
Please share the video with anyone but in particular with your church. Ask it to be played in a church service or at home groups or for the link to be included in the church newsletter. You can maybe send the request with a note from you to personalise it (optional template below), saying that you are a member of CCA or were part of the vigil. If you have access to diocesan/regional or national church notices/resource info, then please ask if it could be included there.
The government will make decision about Rosebank over the next months and this is our chance to have our say. Find out more at: https://www.stopcambo.org.uk/rosebank-mp-actions
The images in the video were taken by those who shared in the service and vigil and the choir from the service provides the background music.

“This is a video about an Ash Wednesday service and the 24 hour vigil which took place on
5-6th March in London this year. It lasts 4.5 minutes and has been created to highlight the
world’s climate emergency and how we might respond in the light of the gospel’s call to
repent and change. It focuses on stopping the Rosebank oil field and has a call to action to
share in that campaign – a campaign that could end the extraction of Oil & Gas from all new
sites in the UK. It is a pivotal moment.
The service and vigil brought together many organisations including Christian Aid, TearFund,
Green Christian and Operation Noah. The video has been produced by Christian Climate
Action who coordinated the event.”
