Pilgrimage To National Trust AGM November 2025

CCA members and others went on a two days of pilgrimage to the National Trust AGM in Swindon. This involved two walks , visiting National Trust lands and buildings, including the Uffington Chalk Horse on 6th November and Avebury / Silbury Hill on 7th November. We did this to connect with the ancient landscape that shaped and sustained our forebears, and to consider how this informs our faith practice and relationship with Nature. Also, we get to share stories with friends old and new, and to prepare for the AGM meeting.

8th November was the 4th time CCA has attended the Annual General Meeting of the National Trust , which is Europe’s largest conservation charity, having 6 million members. Getting a ticket is a lottery, so non-members and any members without tickets acted as our welcome team at the venue entrance We go there to press the National Trust to quit banking with Barclays Bank, which is still Europe’s largest arranger of finance for fossil fuel industries. The meeting is unlike corporate AGMs. There is plenty of opportunity for face to face meetings with Trustees and the Executive Team and we make good use of this opportunity.
