Three Wise CCA Members Call on Norway to Stop Rosebank

Three wise members of CCA took a visit to the Norwegian Embassy last week to call on Norway to stop a new oilfield off the coast of Scotland.

Every year Norway gives the UK a Christmas Tree to go in Trafalgar Square to thank us for helping them in World War Two. CCA joined Stop Rosebank and the Climate Choir to pay a visit to the Norwegian Embassy and then gatecrash the tree lighting ceremony (respectfully).

Norway is being a bit hypocritical – despite being fantastic at electric vehicles, the Norwegian state owns 60% of Equinor, the company that wants to develop a new oilfield off the north coast of Scotland. Norway’s energy minister has been lobbying the UK to say yes to Rosebank and shaming Ed Miliband in the UK press for not being pro-oil enough.

CCA provided three kings for the Norwegian Embassy protest. They brought gifts of 250 tonnes of carbon dioxide, dead fish and hurricane damage – all as a result of what Rosebank would do.
