TRAVEL COSTS TO LONDON – Uplift/Stop Rosebank is happy to cover travel costs for people coming from outside of London. Please email action@stopcambo.org.uk to arrange this.
WHY : In the run-up to a new decision on Rosebank, MP engagement is a critical lever in convincing the UK government to reject the oilfield. The more MPs who sign the Stop Rosebank pledge, and pile on the pressure in parliament, the more the government feels the heat. Right now, over 50 MPs and more than 10 MSPs have signed the pledge, and we’re working to increase these numbers as much as possible.
HOW : A group of CCAers will be joining the Stop Rosebank Lobby Day on Tues 24th March – they will be at the meet up location from 1pm, look out for the CCA t-shirts. Anybody is allowed to show up at Parliament and request a meeting on the spot (using the Green Carding system). If your MP is there, they’ll come down and talk to you, and you can ask them face-to-face to sign the Stop Rosebank Pledge. Even if your MP is busy, they are officially notified that a constituent came to find them to talk about Rosebank – and they will be expected to respond. Please note that you will not be allowed into Parliament if you a wearing a CCA t-shirt or patches.
Support at Westminster on the 24th;
- There will be plenty of support on the day – the Stop Rosebank and Hope For The Future teams will be there to be a friendly face, and help you have the most impactful conversation with your MP
- There will be printed copies of the latest MP briefing available on the day that your MPs can take away with them
