Gathering and Training Together

It has been wonderful to see the Christian climate movement growing during recent protests. Maintaining a close-knit and well-resourced community is so important as we seek to act together and support each other in the face of climate breakdown.

We have organised a series of events around the country to welcome new people who are interested in finding out more and doing some training together. The next events are based in Bristol and Manchester.

During each day, we will be covering a range of topics that offer something for everyone, no matter how long you’ve been in action – whether you have never been to a protest before, or whether you are a seasoned pro. We might explore things like:

  • What does the Bible say about peaceful civil disobedience?
  • Discerning what kind of action you should take.
  • Non-violent protest training – first time training for newbies and review and reflection on the challenge of non-violence for those with experience of action.
  • Speaking to the press.
  • Holding outreach conversations.
  • What to do if family and friends are not supportive

           ….and more!

We would love for you to join us for as much or as little of the days as you can, and new people will be welcomed with open arms. Come, meet and chat with other like-minded people, hear the experiences of those who have been involved in CCA for some time and find out about forthcoming actions you can get involved in.

Tea and coffee will be provided and we are inviting you to bring and share vegan/vegetarian lunch.

So do join us in Bristol and Manchester on Saturday 3rd September.
