Two special events cohosted by Christian Climate Action and Green Christian
Screening of The Letter, Wednesday 20th September 7-9pm on Zoom
Session with Lorna Gold, Wednesday 27th September 7.30pm – 8.30pm on Zoom

The Letter helps us to understand how climate change is already affecting people we don’t encounter in our daily lives. The film recounts the experience of five very different people speaking for the Poor, the Young, the Indigenous and Science who visit Pope Francis after receiving a letter of invitation from him. None of them are Christian, but all are profoundly affected by their encounter.
Bring a cup of tea, a glass of wine or your evening meal to the screen and watch the film from home. This will be followed by a chance to have an on screen discussion about the issues raised with others who have been watching. Register in advance for the screening here. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about how to join.

Dr Lorna Gold plays a key role in ‘The Letter’, accompanying the guests of Pope Francis in their physical and emotional journeys. Join us to hear from her as she talks about environmental, climate and economic justice and shares her experiences of taking part in ‘The Letter’.
Lorna is the CEO of FaithInvest, a network of values-driven, faith-consistent investors. She has more than two decades’ experience of engaging faiths on environmental, climate and economic justice. She worked at a senior level in Trocaire, the official overseas development agency of the Catholic Church in Ireland. She is a leading voice on faith-consistent investing in the Catholic Church and supported the Irish Bishops’ Conference to divest from fossil fuels in 2018. She is Chair of the Laudato Si’ Movement (formerly the Global Catholic Climate Movement). Lorna’s books include New Financial Horizons – The Emergence of an Economy of Communion and Climate Generation – Awakening our Children’s Future. She is launching a new edition of Climate Generation in the autumn and will be speaking about this during the session. Register in advance for the session here. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about how to join.
We hope that in hosting these events people will be encouraged to arrange a screening of the film in their local community and to host a discussion on the importance of taking action to secure change alongside this.
