Join us in a National Day of Climate Prayer

Imagine a world where people of faith stand together to protect God’s creation. Imagine a Church that puts love into action by pushing for climate justice. If this is a reality you long for, join us on Sunday 14th September 2025.
On this day Christian Climate Action will be releasing a booklet, calling on The Church of England to be a prophetic force in the climate emergency. People will be gathering peacefully outside Cathedrals, with the aim of prophetically praying it into being.
Why are we praying?
In CCA, we believe in the power of prayer, a practice which underlies everything we do. At its centre, the day will involve us praying that the Church of England moves to exemplify radical and transformative Christian living in the face of climate collapse.
There are many positive things the Church of England is doing to take action on the climate emergency, such as largely divesting from fossil fuels, and more than 300 renewable installations on buildings owned by the Church of England. There are also many individuals within the church who are committed to creation care.
The Church has taken some significant steps to consider its own climate footprint. However we long to see a Church that goes beyond getting its own affairs in order. Jesus went beyond self-improvement, speaking out about justice and calling on people to change their ways. We yearn for a church that speaks and acts prophetically as it bears witness to the truth about the destruction of our God-given and beautiful planet.
If you also long for a dynamic and prophetic church, join us on the 14th September.
