The Global Day of Climate Action

On Saturday the 12th November, members of Christian Climate Action joined in with the Global Day of Action – taking a stand against climate breakdown, as leaders and delegates gather in Egypt for the UN climate conference COP27.

There were around 40 different protests happening across the world that day, demanding action on warmer homes, better public transport and a speedy transition away from oil and gas. A key message of the day was also a calling for Loss and Damage finance – for polluters to pay up for the destruction that climate change is already doing to countries around the world.

Our aim was to draw attention to banks, governments and the main polluters driving the breakdown of the climate. The marches were picked up in media across the UK:

Scotland

England

Wales
