Join us in Liverpool on Monday 28th September
The government are deciding whether or not to give permission for two new offshore oil and gas fields in UK waters. We expect the announcement sometime after 8th October.
The Labour Party Conference is a prime opportunity to interact with Labour MPs, staffers and members and tell them we don’t want Rosebank or Jackdaw to be approved.
There are two opportunities to get involved:
STOP ROSEBANK at Labour Party Conference
Monday 28th September,10.00am-11.45am
Very near the Labour Party Conference (exact location tbc)
Organised by the Stop Rosebank Coalition
We will be joined by parents, children, firefighters, health workers, trade union members, and everyone else fighting for a liveable future to send a clear, unified message to the conference.
We want to create a strong, visual images for the press to circulate that shows the breadth of opposition against Rosebank in the coverage of the conference. If you can, please come wearing your work uniform. Whether that’s a suit, scrubs or a firefighter suit.
Vigil: a call to STOP ROSEBANK
Monday 28th September, 6.30pm-8pm
Near the Albert Dock Pride Sculpture (corner of Salthouse Quay & Gower St)
What3words = reduce.dared.movies
Organised by Christian Climate Action
A silent vigil remembering places devastated by the climate emergency caused by burning fossil fuels.
As we remember those who suffer, we remember those in government who have the power to act to save lives and give a future to our children. In sorrow we will scatter a rose of ashes and in hope we will light a candle for a brighter future… if we STOP ROSEBANK.
Our silence will be broken every quarter of an hour to name places and people.
This is an occasion open to people of all faiths and none.
