CCA DIE-IN @ HM TREASURY on Weds 20th May

Timings: 12:15pm – 1:45pm

Meet at CCA Parliament Vigil (12.15) and then walk together to the Treasury.

Rosebank is the largest undeveloped oilfield in the North Sea. If extracted and burned, Rosebank’s oil and gas would produce more CO2 than the 28 poorest countries do in a year. 

The government (via OPRED) have recently asked for clarification on many of the details in the Environmental Assessment. It is currently believed that the earliest decision could be mid-June (but end July is more likely). There is a concern that Rachel Reeves may be attracted by the tax receipts that could be generated by Rosebank in the future. Therefore, CCA is organising a Die-In in front of the steps at the Treasury (on public land).

📍CONCEPT – 6 bodies covered in sheets at foot of HM Treasury steps. Spoken word about how they died, and cause of death.

📍VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – We have six people who have volunteered to be bodies, and we have four banner holders. We could use up to two additional banner holders, and others who would hold vigil/lament/prayer next to the “drama”.
